Who was the first scientist who proposed a hypothesis that the continents are moving, when did he propose it, and what did he say?
The first scientist to claim that the continents were moving was Alfred Wegener. He first spoke of this in 1915 in his book 'The Origin of Continents'. He said however that the continents pushed throw the ocean crust, and we now know that to be false.
