George II was the last English monarch to be born abroad. He was born in Schloss Herrenhausen, Hanover on 10th November, 1683. He was the only son of George, prince of Brunswick-Luneberg. He and his father moved to Britain when his father ascended to the throne. George became King on 11th June, 1727 when his father died. He died on 25th October, 1760 of aortic dissection and was buried at Westminster.
