The Song 'Chantilly Lace' was written by The Big Bopper. The Big Bopper, whose real name was J. P Richardson, was a prominent DJ at KTRM in Beaumont, Texas who also had a few of his own hit records. Richardson was also a prolific song writer but unfortunately, he died on 3rd February 1959 in a plane crash.
