Why Are Women's Buttons on the Left Side?

Answer

Women's buttons are located on the left side of clothing for several reasons. The first is that in the early 1800's a lot of women did have maids that helped them dress. It was easier for the buttons to be to the left for the maid. Another reason being that if women dress while looking in a mirror, it will look as if the buttons are on the right.
