Why Did the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Change Their Name?

Answer

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays decided to change their name starting with the 2008 MLB season because they wanted to reinvent themselves because they had many bad seasons. They wanted to put those bad seasons behind them and start fresh. They changed their colors and the uniforms. It seemed to have worked because they made it all the way to the World Series in 2008, but lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 4 games to 1.
