Why Do My Hands Fall Asleep at Night?

Answer

When the ulnar nerve is compressed, the hand can become numb and the nerve stops functioning in a healthy way. Therefore when one sleeps, you keep the elbow bent which inserts pressure on the ulnar nerve for an extended period and can worsen the symptoms if you have ulnar nerve entrapment. Thus this causes the hand to sleep or a tingling sensation in the arm.
