There are several reasons that make toenails curl, the major cause being fungus infection. Old age, wearing tight shoes, lack of vitamins responsible for proper nail growth, trauma and side effects of certain diseases, e.g; diabetes are other causes why toenails curl.

It's because they are too long. Nails should not go past your toes, in actual fact they shouldn't be any longer than a couple of mm's and needs to be trimmed once a week. KD

Hmm.possibly tight shoes and since they are small/to tight its pushing them down causing them to grow downwards due to the constant force of the shoes.
