Why is ruisdael considered the great landscape painter of the 17th century dutch republic?

Jacob Van Ruisdael was an artist who lived during the years of 1628-1682. His passion was only in landscape. His imagination was very good and the colors were painted beautifully. As in other artists, he did not become famous until after his death for his great passionate painting.
