Many consider sociology not to a science because a science in its restrictive definition refers to a system of acquiring information based on the scientific method as well as the organized body of knowledge gained through such research whereas Sociology is the study of the development, structure, and functioning of the human society and how life is experienced. However remains of great contest among scholars.
