The great pyramid of Giza was built as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu in about 2,550 B.C. He wanted a tomb that will keep his body safe as well as the safety of his precious possessions. Right by the pyramid, there stood three smaller pyramids believed to be the tombs of his queens.
