The first gun was invented in 1718 by James Puckle of London, England and consisted of a tripod mounted, single-barrelled flintlock gun that was fitted with a multishot revolving cylinder. It was designed to be used against Christian enemies while the second type was to be used against Muslim Turks and fired square bullets.
