Why Won't My MIC Work?

Answer

A microphone may not work if it is muted, or if it is inserted into the wrong port. To correct this, one should go to the 'Control Panel' and click on 'Sound and Check' on the first tab to see if it is muted. Once confirmed that the speakers are not muted, check the sound tabs and make sure that the default sound device is listed in the drop-down box.
