What is the zebra life cycle? The zebra stays pregnant for 12 months after which time she give birth to a foal. The mother zebra keep other zebras away from her baby so she can learn its stripe patterns. Zebra strip patterns are all different. The foal stays close by its mother for protection until it gets bigger and protect itself.
