You could try the accomodation at UCD - University College. Its on campus, very modern and cheap. On the debit side its a little way out of the city centre. Last year I think I paid £40 per night

I'd choose a hostel/B&B in the gardiner st. area. There's several hostels, Jacob's and Issac's adjecent to busarus / connolly station. It's about a half hour walk to the point.
