Hi Martin I believe water works well. an ice cube or whatever you choose. rub it on the area then ruffle up the carpet! Good luck - it may take a while but it'll go eventually!

i would use a stiff bristled hair brush.....and dig it in a bit and brush the area until it comes back to life a bit dont do it enough to fray the carpet ...just enough to pull the nap back up into place
