What is Prime Factorization in Math?
In math, prime factorization is when we find all the prime factors of a number. For example, to find the prime factors of 18, we find a number that divides into 18 like 6. We then say that 18 = 6x3= 2x3x3. Since 2x3x3 are all the prime fact... Read More »

factoring polynomials
To factor a polynomial expression, find what can be divided out of every term in the expression. The expression becomes rearraged, with the divisor factored out and the remaining terms are placed within parantheses.
If given the expression 4x + 24, the the factored polynomial would be 4(x + 6). All the original terms are divisible by 4. Be sure to be mindful of you signs when dealing with more complex expressions.
