The uterus contracts irregularly during pregnancy especially when you are tired or active. Though they are called Braxton-Hicks contractions or false labor, remember that true labor contractions often feel the same in the early stages.
True labor can only be distinguished from Braxton-Hicks contractions in retrospect. True Labor is marked by the progressive increase in intensity of the contractions.
