Parathyroid hormone is the hormone secreted by the parathryoid glands which are four tiny glands located either behind your thyroid or in your thyroid in the neck. This hormone regulates calcium levels in the blood and in the bones.

The parathyroid hormone just keeps your calcium and phosphorous levels in check. If it didn't then it would be too much or too little of the hormone produced, which could cause bigger problems.
