Why is semi-log graph paper useful?
Semi-log graph paper is useful to graph relationships that are exponential. The semi-log scale will make your data linear, so it is easier to do data fitting. It is much easier to fit a line than to fit an exponential curve, by hand. These ... Read More »

Log-log paper is used to graph functions where each variable is exponential in nature (such as e^x, or 10^3x, etc.). Using the logarithmic scales allows large values to be plotted without requiring absurdly large sheets of paper. Semi-log p...

It is only a guess, but I think there is a number after your "E" which can be taken as "exponent" Scientific notation (the basis of semi-log paper) is 3.00×10³ to represent 3000. But this is inconvenient, so some write it as 3.00E3.

If I had a set of concentration-time data, I would plot ln(concentration) as the y-axis and time as the x-axis. If someone was trying to work backwards to see what I did, they'd need to take e^y rather than ln(y), because I've already taken...
