You are going to have to go to a place that sells carpet and ask if there is anything made to dye carpet. You can't use something like Rit dye, because unless you take the carpet outdoors, you won't have any way to rinse the dye off.

What I have found to work for me is to either try your over the counter resolve spray or you can save some money and get a small brush/toothrush then spray some vinegar on the prot and scrub it. Then wipe with a dampened towell and repeat.
