When can I see the space station in the sky?

The International Space Station is usually visible for a few minutes near dawn or dusk. It travels from the western horizon and disappears from the eastern horizon with each pass. Near darkness is the best time because of sunlight reflecting off the station from the rising and setting sun.

NASA supplies an application to track when the International Space Station moves over a certain location. The SkyWatch app looks at each pass of the ISS at a given location and determines if it is visible or not. Users simply select their location from a list of cities on the app and press the "Next Sighting" button. The app determines the next possible future sighting for the designated location. If the station is visible, the app supplies the time when it is expected to pass over the given location.
