Q:

How do you make carp bait?

A:

Make carp bait with particle balls of grits, creamed corn, butternut flavoring and mashed potatoes. The balls take 10 minutes to make and 12 hours to dry. This recipe requires instant mashed potatoes, creamed corn, instant grits, butternut flavoring, a bucket, water, a can opener, a wooden spoon, measuring spoons, latex gloves, parchment paper and a baking sheet.

  1. Prepare the supplies

Rinse the bucket thoroughly, and turn it upside-down to drip dry. Put on latex gloves, and open a large can of creamed corn.

  2. Mix the bait

Dump the creamed corn into the bucket, and scrape the can clean with the wooden spoon. Tear open four packets of instant grits, and pour the contents over the creamed corn. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid butternut flavoring. Stir the bait with the wooden spoon, then add half of a box of instant mashed potatoes. Stir the mixture, and add the rest of the mashed potatoes.

  3. Churn the bait with your hands

Plunge your hands into the bait, and churn it until you have an extremely thick, slightly dry mixture.

  4. Roll and dry the balls

Roll the bait into marble-sized balls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set the tray outside, and dry the balls in the sun.
