Former NHL star Wayne Gretzky won four Stanley Cups, all with the Edmonton Oilers. The titles followed the 1983-84, 1984-85, 1986-87 and 1987-88 seasons. His closest to a fifth came in 1992-93 when his team, the Los Angeles Kings, was defeated by the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Gretzky played a total of 20 NHL seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers. He retired after the 1998-99 season and was inducted into the Hall of Fame that same year. As of 2014, Gretzky still holds or shares 61 NHL records, including most career goals (894), assists (1,963) and points (2,857).
