To activate a MetroPCS phone as of 2014, go to the official website of MetroPCS, and navigate to the activation section. Follow the onscreen instructions to activate your phone. Your phone must remain off during the activation process. You need the retail box for your phone and a credit or debit card.
- Navigate to the activation section
Go to MetroPCS.com, and click on Manage & Pay in the navigation menu. Find the Activate a Device link, and click on it. Choose Activate One Device or Activate Multiple Devices.
- Enter your ZIP code and device numbers
Enter your ZIP code to check coverage availability. Locate the IMEI and SIM/ICCID numbers on the label of your device's retail box, and enter them.
- Choose a phone number and plan
Choose a phone number. If you would like to transfer your current phone number, select this option, and follow the onscreen instructions. Continue to step two, and choose a plan that suits your needs and budget. Continue to step three to choose additional services.
- Submit your personal information, and complete activation
Continue to step four, and submit your name and billing information. Submit any additional information required for activation. Continue to step five, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the activation process.
