Web browsers use the TCP to communicate with servers on the Worldwide Web using a range of protocols contained in the TCP/IP package, including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, IMAP, TELNET, SMTP and SSH.

Internet Protocol is connectionless. The protocol does not rely on connection wires for communication between network devices.
