Customers can unlock their MetroPCS phone for free by meeting the MetroPCS terms and conditions and calling the customer service number to request an unlock code. Customers can also request the unlock code at a MetroPCS store location.
MetroPCS may unlock a phone for free if the customer has had active service for the previous 90 days in a row on a MetroPCS phone. Military personnel with orders for deployment do not have to meet the service requirement. Once the customer service representative verifies the customer's information and eligibility, a request is placed for an unlock code. The customer receives the free unlock code by email within two to three days of request.
