Nissan's luxury Infiniti line of cars is manufactured in Japan as well as in Smyrna, Tenn., in the United States. The Smyrna location makes one Infiniti model, the JX Crossover. The company stated in April of 2013 that it was considering developing a second manufacturing location in North America.
Infiniti moved its global headquarters to Hong Kong in 2012. Nissan's Infiniti deliveries in the United States rose 4.4 percent in the first quarter of 2013. Plans were made to build Infiniti models in China in 2014, with estimated annual sales around 200,000 units. Nissan also builds other automobiles in North America outside of the Smyrna, Tenn., location, with two manufacturing plants in Mexico and one in Canton, Miss.
