I am a professor for computer science at the University of Freiburg and head of the research lab for Autonomous Intelligent Systems. My areas of interest lie in artificial intelligence and mobile robots.

Currently, I have the 1-year deputyship (W3-Professurvertretung) of Wolfram Burgard until September 2010 and I recently finished my habilitation in November 2009. Before that, I was working as an academic advisor (Akademischer Rat) in the Lab for Autonomous Intelligent Systems at the University of Freiburg.
