Ytterby, Resarö, Vaxholm, Uppland, Sweden; 5 mm grain of fresh not oxidized and crystalline (not metamict) analysed gadolinite-(Y) in granite pegmatite matrix. Bottle green inner reflection are well visible. Outer part of the grain is more oxidized and is brownish (see the left part of the grain).

CONCLUSIONS Formanite-(Y), fergusonite-(Y) and tantalaeschynite-(Y) are primary Nb-TaREE minerals and formed at the early stages of the evolution of pegmatites in the Strzegom-Sob tka massif.
