The unit-cell volume of mereheadite [415.4(8) 3] is about eight times smaller than that of Pb8O5(OH)2Cl4 [3375.3(11) 3]. We suggest that there is a close relationship between the structures of mereheadite and Pb8O5(OH)2Cl4 (blixite).
