Maybe the old ones never die. ... "They'll take turns sitting on the next set, while the other feeds up the squabs." And they'll do that four to six times a season. So, not only are there baby pigeons, ... So if you really want to see a baby pigeon, throw down a fried clam. That'll separate the men from the boys.

Pigeons are devoted parents. So good that both will feed their squabs a delicious concoction known as 'pigeon milk'. A sort of equivalent to what was our Farex or rusk in warm milk! They eat like this for about 10 or so days ... (17:34 on Sun 17/Dec/06) When I was a kid I used to think that sparrows were baby pigeons :(

These nests aren't just hidden from mankind, but also from the other annoying city dwellers that pigeons must deal with. Squirrels will steal nesting materials. Crows will eat eggs and/or baby pigeons. Peregrine falcons will eat the parents.
