When to put up and take down Christmas decorations varies by family. Some put them up as early as December 1st and leave them up until January 7 or so, others put them up on Christmas Eve and take them down the day after Christmas or New Year's Day.
In some cultures, it is considered bad luck to take down Christmas decorations before Twelfth Night, or January 6th.
