According to PsychCentral, there are several ways to improve your quality of life and your sense of well-being. These include getting to bed earlier, participating in physical activity, setting goals, being grateful and focusing on the positive.
Get to bed earlier
Get to bed earlier, and get enough sleep. Getting quality sleep allows you to function tomorrow with a clear head. Neglecting sleep leaves you inattentive, forgetful, irritable and unable to problem-solve.
Participate in physical activity
Find and participate regularly in an enjoyable physical activity. Exercise is an important component of both mental and physical health. If you have trouble becoming motivated on your own, find a workout partner to pass the time.
Set a practical goal to help you work toward your accomplishments. If the goal is too unrealistic, it can damage self-esteem. If needed, break larger goals down into smaller goals.
Focus on what you do have, and be grateful for those things. Focusing on what you lack encourages negativity. Take time to express that gratitude to others around you.
Focus on the positive
Find the positive in every situation, especially those that seem inherently negative. Find useful or beneficial lessons during times of trial. This helps you to retain a positive attitude despite circumstances.
