Full Answer

Diets with very high levels of protein are not desirable in desert environments. The nomadic peoples of the Sahara carry bags of rice and dates on camels' backs while they herd sheep, which are occasionally eaten. Native American tribes of the Mojave Desert were primarily farmers and gatherers who sometimes hunted small game. The San bushmen of the Kalahari, however, are a hunter-gatherer people who have survived for 20,000 years by primarily hunting wild game and gathering nuts and berries. Drinking water is not readily available to the San, so they survive off the moisture stored in plant roots and melons.

How do people spend their leisure time?

    A:

What people choose to do with their leisure time depends on factors such as personal interests, disposable income, mobility and geographical limitations. For example, people who live in snowy, mountainous areas may enjoy skiing as a leisure activity, while those who live in coastal, tropical places may prefer to take advantage of their natural landscape through water-based activities like snorkeling, surfing or boating. Leisure time is defined as time that is spent free of paid or unpaid work obligations and does not include non-work time spent doing personal chores or things that are essential for survival, such as sleeping or eating.
