Music Festivals We Can't Wait to Attend Again

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March of 2020, we were all hoping for things to get back to normal sooner rather than later. We certainly adapted — by altering social plans, pushing travel dates back, and carefully following newly implemented restrictions and quarantine measures. That’s not to say anything was easy; it’s been a challenging time, and we’ve all been looking forward to resuming some semblance of our “normal" lives.

Music lovers in particular have been looking forward to attending the in-person festivals that were simply not possible with pandemic health restrictions in place. Virtual concerts and live-streamed events definitely made for enjoyable stop-gaps that scratched our festival-excitement itch. But an evening in front of the computer just can’t replace the thrill — the roar of the crowd, the palpable exhilaration, the strobe lights and even the strangers’ sweat droplets drifting around — that’s unique to in-person concerts.

Now our patience is beginning to pay off. With COVID-19 cases declining and vaccines reaching most segments of the population, it's appearing more likely that festivals can resume. Organizers are handling things a little differently, of course, and some major festivals like Coachella have already announced further cancelations. But others are beginning to release official dates and lineups, and we’re eagerly awaiting the wristbands, the overpriced beverages and the opportunity to finally share airspace with our favorite performers.
