Effective January 1, 2008, the Division of Vital Records will need proof of identity for all individuals requesting a death record. These new requirements are based on legislative changes that occurred during the 2007 North Dakota legislative session and can be referenced in North Dakota Century Code 23-02.1-27 (2).
